GA Defended as a Source of Jobs in Pennsylvania
February 26, 2009
From Aviation UpdateCorporate Air,
of West Mifflin, Pa., plans to expand its GA maintenance and
repair center this year, but a company official says all the
industry-bashing coming out of Washington has made such growth a
dicey proposition. "I'm so frustrated about the images of the
greedy CEO, smoking cigars and drinking champagne on his private
jet," said Mike Vargo, Corporate Air's sales and marketing
director. Edward Kilkeary, a pilot and president of L.J.
Aviation in nearby Latrobe, Pa., agrees. "The people I'm flying
are just trying to manage their business, often with less
people," he said.
